About the Breeder

When I moved from America to New Zealand in the early 2000's, I bought my first Ragdoll trio, two queens and a tom. I instantly realized that Ragdolls are so much more than just their majestic fluffy coats and sapphire blue eyes. Besides being ridiculously good looking, these are the most relaxed and people-friendly cats I've ever known.

I love my cats, and am passionate about them, continuously researching behaviour, training, and breeding. I have a bachelor of agricultural science degree, with several post graduate courses in behaviour, and am constantly looking to learn more! I aim to match every owner to a cat that best suites them and their lifestyle, and I make myself available to my clients throughout the life of their cats.

About the Breed

Ragdolls are the kind of playful, cuddly family cat that most people dream of when they think of the ideal pet cat. Known as the 'dogs' of the cat world, most ragdolls are very cuddly, communicative, enjoy being around people (even newcomers) and even love a good belly rub! Ragdolls are a chatty, outgoing breed with a great temperament. They are docile, placid, and affectionate, and are great for people with young children. It's also very common for these gregarious cats to make friends with other species, such as dogs.

They are very intelligent cats, and can easily be taught tricks, as well as trained to walk on a lead. As they like being near their people, ragdolls are real homebodies, and don't tend to wander as much as some other breeds. They form deep, lasting bonds with their owners and other house pets.

Ragdolls now come in a myriad of colours and markings, but there are some particular physical characteristics that set this breed apart from the rest. Ragdolls are a blue-eyed, pointed, semi-longhaired cat. The breed now includes self-coloured, mink, and sepia Ragdolls which are identical to the pointed Ragdoll in all but body and eye colour. The Ragdoll is large, heavy-boned, alert, affectionate, and intelligent; giving the impression of graceful flowing movement. Females are appreciably smaller overall than males. Full weight and size is not expected until about 4 years of age.
